George Nelson Peacock 1886-1948

George Peacock and Jessie Forsyth were married on the 21st of August, 1905. She was almost twenty at the time. The photo below was taken a few years before. This was the woman George fell in love with.

They lived in Falkenburg at first and then moved to the 'Kirk Line' in January of 1909 with three little girls, the youngest born in mid-December in 1908.

INTRODUCTION

As Thomas O'Hanlon said in his 1975 book, The Irish "are citizens of the world. When the time is propitious, they migrate with the natural instincts of wild geese, travelling ancient routes to Boston, London, Vancouver or Sydney."

This blog is dedicated to compiling information about the descendants of Hugh Peacock (Ellen Waggot) and Thomas Peacock (Sarah Smith) wild geese of Ulster who immigrated to Canada and lived on the same property in King Township, York County, Ontario in the mid-nineteenth century before moving to other parts of Canada and the US.

The land documents in Muskoka were diligently searched by Barbara, a great granddaughter of George Nelson Peacock.
