Hugh Peacock Family Photo - Regina

Photo contributed by G.B., a descendant of Sarah Peacock Beldon. Taken in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Hugh Peacock (d. 1920) is the gentleman.  Back right is Sarah Peacock Beldon.  The woman in the middle might be Hugh's youngest daughter 'Ettie' who lived in Saskatchewan.  The figure on the left seems a bit young to be Hugh's wife.  There was another daughter who lived in Saskatchewan - Ida.

Ida L., Mrs. Abe Adams

Ida was born July 22, 1872/73 in King Township, York County, Ontario. She was the fourth daughter and eighth child of Hugh and Ellen Peacock. Ida appears with her parents in the census records in 1881 in Bruce County, Ontario and in 1891 in Whitehead, Manitoba.

In 1901, she is living with her married sister, Mary Jane Stanlake in Brandon, Manitoba. The family group consists of the Stanlake couple, five children between the ages of one and thirteen, a domestic helper, and Ida. In addition, there is a young man named Abe Adams who is a lodger and a grocery clerk by occupation. He was born in Ontario May 11, 1877 and is five years younger than Ida.

Nontheless, on December 11, 1901 Ida Peacock and Abraham Adams were married in Whitewater close to Brandon.

They next appear in the 1911 census in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan living on the Crowe or Grove Block. His occupation is 'merchant - wholesale grocer.'

No other information is known about this couple.
