AFTER THEY LEFT ULSTER: Grandma's Platter

When Aunt Mabel moved from the farm in the 1980's, she gave me two platters which had belonged to Grandma Peacock. This is one of them.

INTRODUCTION

As Thomas O'Hanlon said in his 1975 book, The Irish "are citizens of the world. When the time is propitious, they migrate with the natural instincts of wild geese, travelling ancient routes to Boston, London, Vancouver or Sydney."

This blog is dedicated to compiling information about the descendants of Hugh Peacock (Ellen Waggot) and Thomas Peacock (Sarah Smith) wild geese of Ulster who immigrated to Canada and lived on the same property in King Township, York County, Ontario in the mid-nineteenth century before moving to other parts of Canada and the US.

The land documents in Muskoka were diligently searched by Barbara, a great granddaughter of George Nelson Peacock.
